Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026

This policy explains what information JBL Risk Manager (“we”, “us”), operated by North Atlantic Pty Ltd, collects when you use the application at jblrisk.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run the product and we do not sell your data.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and a small amount generated as you use the app:

  • Account details — the name and email address you register with, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Trading data you enter — the portfolios, trades, stops, settings, notes and watchlist symbols you create. This is the content of the product and it belongs to you.
  • Technical data — basic, standard information such as your browser type and the pages you visit, used to keep the service running and secure.

2. How we use your information

We use your information only to provide and improve the service, specifically to:

  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
  • Store and display your portfolios, trades and settings, and run the risk and scoring calculations on them.
  • Send essential account communications, such as email verification and password resets.
  • Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.

3. Authentication and local storage

When you sign in, we issue a JSON Web Token (JWT) that your browser stores in its local storage and sends with each request to prove who you are. It stays until you log out or it expires. Because it is held in your browser, signing out or clearing your browser storage removes it from your device.

We use browser storage for this purpose and for remembering preferences such as your light or dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Third-party market data

To show prices, charts and market information, JBL Risk Manager draws data from third-party providers, including CoinGecko and EOD Historical Data. Retrieving that data involves requests to those providers; it is used to display market information to you and is governed by each provider’s own terms and privacy practices.

We do not send your personal account details or your trades to these market-data providers.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers who host and operate the app on our behalf, under obligations to protect it.
  • Legal requirements, where we are compelled by law or must protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • A business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case we will notify you of any change in control of your data.

6. Data security and retention

We protect your account with hashed passwords and token-based authentication, and we transmit data over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data except where we are required to retain it.

7. Your rights and choices

You can view and edit most of your data directly in the app, and you can change your password at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and personal data, contact us at support@jblrisk.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law, which we will honour.

8. Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will revise the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact us

Questions about this policy or your data? Email us at support@jblrisk.com and we will respond.
